Hey Kids, Bored, want something to do, why not recycle your old plastic or cardboard milk containers and use them as plant pots to pot a plant or even a small tree.

What you will need:

Plastic or cardboard milk container

Scissors (ask mum or dad if young)

Pen or sharp stick

Potting Mix

Small rocks/pebbles or Small peices of Polystyrene

Plant or Small Tree Seedling

Spray bottle of Water

How to:

Cut milk container in half (horizontally)

Using Pen, sharp stick or scissors, push a few small holes in the bottom of the container

Put in a few stones/pebbles or polystyrene peices into container to just cover bottom

add approx a handful of soil

place your plant/tree into container

Add more soil to cover roots of plant/tree

Finally Water with a spray bottle and leave in the Sun/Shade (depending on needs of plant/tree)

*Make sure you keep checking your plant and watering it everyday to ensure it grows healthy. Once the plant gets too big for the container you can simply re pot or put in the ground.

Note: If you are using a cardboard milk container you can put the whole thing in a new hole in the ground or bigger pot as the cardboard will break down.
